The UIDAI official website allows the cardholder to update their information on the Aadhaar card. There are a total of 3-methods to update Aadhaar details.
- Online method
- Offline method
- By postal method
The online method can only be used to update the address and nothing else, if you need to update anything else, you can choose the offline method. PS: The online method can be used for address change only if you have a registered mobile number.
Here is the step by step procedure for updating Aadhaar information online.
Step 1: Visit UIDAI official website or click here https://uidai.gov.in/
Step 2: On the page, you will find a heading “Aadhaar Online Services” and 3 option in different colour boxes “Aadhaar Enrolment”, “Aadhaar Update”, and “Aadhaar Services”. Under the “Aadhaar Update” you can find an option “Address Update Request Online”, Select this option or click here https://ssup.uidai.gov.in/web/guest/update
Step 3: Now you will get a fill-up page with “Aadhaar Self Service Update Portal” as the heading. Enter your Aadhar card number and the code as displayed in the Captcha as requested.
Step 4: Click the “send OTP” button. Now the server will send an OTP code to your registered number.
Step 5: Now, check the mobile and enter this OTP below on the page and proceed.
Step 6: Now the page will redirect you to a new page. Now, the page will have a fill-up form, the resident should select the field that needs to get updated.
Step 7: Fill in the details accurately, please double check all the details entered.
Step 8: Once, you complete the fill-in form, the process is almost complete, and a URN will be generated.
Step 9: Now you have select a BPO service provider and then click “Submit”
Step 10: Once, you submit these details; you will have to upload the documents that could be verified so that the update you need will get done. Example, if it is your address that needs to be updated, uploads a document that mentions the updated permanent address.
Step 11: Now, you can download a copy of the updated details for future reference.
Step 12: The UNR number will be produced in this procedure, save this number; you will need this URN to track the status of updating.
